Methodology

We used the Playlist Miner to find playlists on Spotify related to DIY and decorating. Using this tool, we found the most popular songs within the playlists found. The search terms we used were:

  • ‘Do It Yourself’
  • ‘Decorating’
  • ‘Home Improvement’
  • ‘Home Renovation’
  • ‘Home Project’
  • ‘Renovation’
  • ‘Home DIY’

From this, we were able to figure out the most popular songs by calculating which songs re-occurred the most within the different playlists across the different search terms. We then found the most popular artists by looking at how many different songs under each artist re-occurred. All playlist data was collected on 24.06.2022.
