Booking your first overseas golf trip with your best buds is no doubt going to be a pretty exciting time for you all!

You’ll no doubt be hitting the driving range every weekend to brush up on your skills and shouting about your handicap in the group chat, but have you thought about what you need to pack for your trip yet?

There are a number of things you need to take on any holiday abroad such as your passport (and suncream!) but here’s your guide of the extra things you need to take on your first overseas golf trip.

Golf Balls

Probably the most obvious choice for your overseas golf trip is golf balls! And lots of them…

If you’re not the most accurate on the fairway, then you’ll likely need even more golf balls… to save you having to fish any out of a pond.

Golf balls can be pretty heavy, so it may be that you want to take a pack of your favourite golf balls from Golfino and then potentially hire some more while you’re out there.

Golf Clubs

Another obvious one to put straight in your suitcase for your first golf trip is some golf clubs!

Golf clubs can take up a lot of room, so you may have to check them in as an additional piece of luggage. With this, make sure you get a decent golf travel bag from The Golf Shop Online to help transport them and prevent any damage, and could also invest in insurance for them.

If you don’t want to do this or you aren’t particularly precious yet about what clubs you use, then almost all golf resorts in the world have clubs available for hire that could be a more convenient option. However be sure to check the costs for this first, as it could end up costing you a lot more.

A Golf Hat

If you’re jetting off for a golf trip, then it’s probably because you want a bit of sun!

But remember, that beautiful sun can also get in your eyes, and the last thing you want is to be struggling to see the fairway (unless you want to use that as an excuse!).

A golf hat from Discount Golf Store will prevent your head and face from becoming burned and damaged by the UV rays.

Golf Clothing

Looking stylish is quite a big thing while you’re out on the fairway! And there is an abundance of different types of golf clothing available on the market.

If you look good, you’ll play good. So treat yourself to a new polo top or pair of shorts or trousers from MandM Direct depending on how hot it’s going to be. Also note that depending on where you’re going, some golf courses do implement a dress code.

So check that out first and buy anything you need, otherwise, you could end up paying well over the odds if they send you to their golf shop for the correct attire when you’re over there.

Golf Shoes

As with clothing, you’ll more than likely need a certain type of shoe before you step onto the golf course.

Some venues may not allow trainers, so check before you go and invest in some quality golf shoes if you need to. But don’t worry, these have transformed in recent years and can still look great like a normal pair of trainers! Check out stores like American Golf for appropriate golfing shoes.

Lucky Golf Socks

With a good pair of golf shoes must come some lucky golf socks!

If you’re feeling like you could do with all the luck you can get on your first golfing holiday, then why not start with a fun pair of lucky socks? The more colours and patterns, the better!

Leather Gloves

Golf gloves from stores such as Decathlon are essential for any golfer to provide comfort and grip when playing.

You'll want some that are lightweight with breathing holes if you're taking your trip somewhere warm - but you definitely won't want to leave these at home.

GPS Watch

Last but not least, a GPS watch from JD Sports is another awesome gadget that you can use on the fairway and impress your mates with.

Depending on the type you get – these can be used to load courses on, calculate distances, and even act as a scorecard. So you and your mates know you can’t cheat!
