It is important to appreciate and cherish our father figures every day, but even more so than ever on Father’s Day!

This year, Father's Day falls on Sunday 19th of June. A day completely dedicated to letting the father figures in our lives know how much they mean to us and thank them for everything they do. But we all know that dads like to make it extra difficult for us each year by not giving us even the slightest of clues on what we can buy them!

So if you’re struggling with present ideas (we don’t blame you) then why not treat him to some good ol’ quality time together instead? This will probably be much more memorable and enjoyable for him, and could also cost you a bit less, too!

Check out some of our top Father’s Day activity ideas for dad, no matter what your budget.

For a Smaller Budget

Go for a Walk & Picnic

Go to the supermarket, pick up all of his favourite snacks: pork pies, cocktail sausages, pickled onions, cheese & biscuits and homemade sandwiches which you can pick up fairly cheaply at stores like Morrisons.

Dig out your picnic blanket, cool box and head to the local park, a nice spot in the countryside or even the beach and spend the day chatting and eating in the sun.

Engage In His Favourite Hobby

Does your dad have a favourite hobby, why not join him in his natural habitat?

You may be surprised to find yourself bonding over plants and herbs, a 7 iron, what bait to use to catch the biggest fish or his favourite fishing rod from Camping World.

Cook a Meal for All the Family

Since Father’s Day falls on a Sunday, what better day to cook a meal for all the family?

Try something different, think outside the box and create a meal that you wouldn’t usually go for. Tackling a complex recipe can seem challenging but the memories, laughs and food will be worth it. You could even order a meal prep kit from Simply Cook so you can pick a meal, all the ingredients are there and the only challenge is to follow the instructions!

Treat Him To a Beer (or 3)

Serve Dad a refreshing pint of his favourite beer or lager! (Or a few if you don't have work the next day)

For an ultimate treat, take him to the pub and grab some nuts, pork scratchings and challenge him to a few games of pool. If you are feeling overly generous you could even let him win.

Alternatively, create the perfect night in and order your beers from Brew Dog, what’s better than beer and a night on the sofa in comfy slippers?

Enjoy a Family Games Night

Celebrate with some good old fashioned family time and create a family games night. Pick games that everyone can enjoy and add in a few delicious snacks and drinks.

You could even create a quiz about your dad – see who knows him best and win yourself some extra brownie points!

Watch His Favourite Film

Celebrate with some good old fashioned family time and create a family games night. Pick board games from Red Rock Games that everyone can enjoy and add in a few delicious snacks and drinks.

You could even create a quiz about your dad – see who knows him best and win yourself some extra brownie points!

For A Larger Budget

Buy Tickets to a Sporting Event

Does your dad love watching football or rugby matches on TV? If he has a favourite sport or favourite team, you should take him to a game for Father’s Day.

Everyone knows that the atmosphere is much more exciting when you are right in the middle of it!

Take Him to See Live Music

Whether your dad loves jazz, country, rock or hip-hop music - finding him a live performance and getting tickets from Groupon to attend on Father’s Day is sure to put a huge smile on his face and warm his heart.

Go Skydiving

Free-falling through the air may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

But if your dad is an adrenaline junkie, self-proclaimed risk-taker or something he wants to tick off his bucket list, this may be the best activity for him.

Take a Road Trip

Pile into the car, turn up the music and take the scenic route to the coast, zoo or even to his favourite city or somewhere he's never been.

Roam the open roads and let him be your tour guide as you scope out his favourite spots.

Book a Fancy Meal

Don’t fancy yourself as much of a chef and want him to feast like a king for the day?

Book a restaurant and let them take care of the cooking whilst you give all your attention to your dad.

Go Wine or Beer Tasting

For all wine and beer loving dads, why not treat him to a tasting session? You can find great days out on Red Letter Days, you may find a great wine/beer tasting event to take him to.

This way you both will benefit and who knows you may both find your new favourite drink (if you can remember it),
